WG Meeting 2011

Provisional Programme

The Working Group Meetings being held in Glasgow are the first opportunity for detailed discussion of the current state of the application of proteomics to farm animal research and will include plenary lectures, submitted papers and posters and ample opportunity for discussion of the means to achieve the objectives of the Action.

Meeting Fees

COST Action participants: Two individuals per participating COST country will be reimbursed with travel and accommodation costs to attend the meeting in Glasgow, one of whom would be a Management Committee member attending the concurrent Management Committee. Active participation in the meeting (eg submitted presentation or poster) is a requirement for reimbursement.

Non-reimbursed COST Action participants and non-COST Action delegates (from non-COST countries):  the Management Committee has decided to charge no fee to attend the scientific sessions of the 1st Meeting of the COST Action on Farm Animal Proteomics.

Note Regarding Reimbursement:  The COST Action will reimburse one Management Committee member and one contributing Working Group member per country.  The MC member to be reimbursed to be agreed between the country MC members and the WG member will be determined by the WG leaders on the basis of contribution to the meeting.  On the registration form, tick the "MC or WG Reimbursement" box if you are the selected MC member, or if you wish to be considered for reimbursement as a contributing WG member and submit an abstract (see below) by 28th Feb. You will be informed around the 4th March if you are selected for reimbursement. 

Meeting dinner on 31st March:  30 Euro
 

Abstract Submission

Deadline to submit abstracts is Monday, 28 February 2011. 

Abstracts must follow these formatting guidelines:
-  Maximum 400 words, with one figure on no more than two A4 pages. 
-  Text is Arial 10-point, single line space
-  Title in bold at 12-points
-  Authors and affiliates in bold Arial 10-point
-  All margins at 2 cm.

Travel

Glasgow is in Scotland and can be reached by train or road from ports of arrival in the UK. Direct flights to Glasgow International Airport are available from numerous locations in Europe while Glasgow Prestwick (for RyanAir flights) and Edinburgh Airports are within an hour by road or train.  For COST participants being reimbursed please book early and consider a budget airline to minimize the use of the COST Action budget.  Flights must be economy fares. 

 

Meeting Location

The Spring Meeting of the COST Action on Farm Animal Proteomics will be held in the St Andrews Building, 11 Eldon Street, Glasgow G3 6NH, of the University of Glasgow, in the Glasgow, Scotland, UK.  (Click here for University website.)

Hotels should be booked direct by quoting the University of Glasgow discount rate. COST Action members receiving reimbursement will receive an allowance of 100 Euro per night for accommodation and 20 Euro per day for subsistence.
