MEETING LOGISTICS:

The address of the venue:  Palazzo Lombardia.  You can use either of the addresses below:

Aula Testori, Palazzo Lombardia, Nuova Regione Lombardia Piazza Città di Lombardia n. 1

or:

Via Melchiorre Gioia n. 37

Local Transport:

Please use the METROPOLITANA (Metro or Underground) - MM2 GREEN LINE- GIOIA STOP

The venue is 100 metres from the metro stop. It is also very close to the Central Station (MM2-greenline-Stazione Centrale)

Please refer to this website for more information about public transport in Milan.

Travel To and From Airports:

Flights to Milan can be very reasonable if booked in advance. Where possible, we would recommend flying into the Milano LINATE airport which is the closest the venue (20 minutes by taxi or 30 minutes by public transport). Linate airport is connected by bus and underground; you can take bus 73 to the last stop - san babila MM1 red - then take the underground red and green lines to the GIOIA stop to reach the venue.

Airport Milano Malpensa is about 40 minutes by direct train from the city centre (and about 50 minutes from the meeting venue). To reach the venue from Malpensa airport DO NOT TAKE TAXI as it will be very expensive. We would recommend that you take the direct train (Malpensa express) which costs 11 Euros (single) or 18 Euros (return). You can buy tickets directly from the website: http://www.malpensaexpress.it/en/ (both CENTRALE and CADORNA are ok. Stop directly at the green metro (underground) line MM2)

Bergamo (or MILANO) ORIO AL SERIO (Bergamo) airport is located more than one hour away by bus (depending on traffic). Tickets can be bought directly from the airport.

Accommodation:

We would recommend using Booking.com to find a suitable hotel in the vicinity of the venue; preferably near a metro station. If considering a hotel near the Central Station, we would strongly recommend booking one that is a famous chain or has at least a 3 star rating.

Some options that are located nearby:
- 10 minute walk or 1 metro stop - Best Western Madison Hotel and Star Hotel Echo
- 20 minute walk or 3 metro stops - Best Western Hotel Galles, Demidoff hotel and Hotel Serena (MM1- RED LINE- LIMA STOP)

Please note that limited spaces will also be available for PhD students in the University of Milano guestrooms where we have booked 20 rooms (single rooms €60 (BB) and double rooms €80 (BB)).
